Business Personal Property Senior Appraiser

Description:

  • The ideal Business Personal Property Senior Appraiser candidate should be able to provide excellent customer service support and have excellent analytical and value settlement negotiation skills.

Requirements:

  • A college degree is required; major in Real Estate or Finance preferred.
  • In certain circumstances the college degree requirement may be waived for an individual with either a Registered Professional Appraiser designation and current active registration
  • with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or ten or more years of active appraisal experience within the last fifteen years from the date of the application.
  • Must have strong PC skills and be able to accurately read maps, plats and architectural plans.
  • The Candidate will be expected to represent the District in ARB hearings.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide technical assistance and training to appraisal staff members as well as quality control of the appraisal staff’s daily work.
  • May include Freeport Exemption processing, Interstate Allocation review, Telecom processing, and/or Chain Rendition analysis.
  • PREFERRED:
  • PHYSICAL and MENTAL ABILITIES: Incumbent must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time with ability to reach, bend and move up/down. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of files or equipment. The position requires the ability to concentrate on assigned tasks and the ability to manage time effectively in order to meet production and quality objectives. Incumbent must be able to operate office equipment including computers (keyboard and touch) and calculators. Incumbent must be able to communicate clearly on the telephone and face to face, including the ability to ask questions that will bring forth the information needed to make sound decisions.

Finance Specialist II

Description:

Requirements:

  • Supervises financial activities.
  • Processes accounts payable and assists in accounts receivable.
  • Performs budgetary research.
  • Purchasing and all related activities including contract negotiation.
  • Processes payroll including all related reports and banking.
  • Processes Contractor (1099) payroll.
  • Processes receipt of funds for deposit.
  • Assists Finance Manager with financial audit.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in finance or accounting.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Software.
  • Experience in automated accounting software products.
  • Experience in automated payroll systems.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • PREFERRED:
  • Experience in government accounting and purchasing.
  • PHYSICAL and MENTAL ABILITIES: Incumbent must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time with ability to reach, bend and move up/down. Property Records Exemption Research Specialist

Description:

  • Are you organized and great with people? A self-motivated, quick learner, with previous office experience?
  • Come and join the Property Records and Exemption Department as a team member of one of the premier Appraisal Districts in Texas!
  • As a PRE Research Specialist you will have the opportunity to provide a high level of excellent service to the public.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills including word processing.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to pass a standardized skill test administered by the District.
  • PREFERRED:
  • Previous office experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of copiers, postage meters, and other office equipment.
  • Familiar with U.S. Mail, UPS, Express Mail Carriers and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Specific knowledge of related DCAD operations (or equivalent tax office operations) and procedures.
  • Bilingual (read and speak) skills.
  • If assigned to deliver and retrieve mail to and from the Post Office, must possess a valid Texas Driver's License and comply with the DCAD automobile insurance requirements.
  • PHYSICAL and MENTAL ABILITIES: Incumbent must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time with ability to reach, bend and move up/down. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of files or equipment.
